The never-ending story was a kid’s film that featured a song of the same name by the singer, Limahl. And it was nice. And you are probably singing the sweet-sickly song in your head right now. Nicey-niceness all wrapped up in a chocolate box with pink ribbons on top. Moving on…
In reality, a never-ending story might have a completely different appeal to your conscious well-being. After all, most of us have lived many times in many different eras, and most likely surrounded by people who wanted to harm us. And each of those existences will have amassed a certain amount of memories that will sit in a dark, distant corner of our mind – just waiting for the opportunity to spring forward and remind us that life isn’t always serenaded by Limahl’s dulcet tones.
You see, life is a game played by adventurers, seeking solutions to problems that simply won’t go away. The rules of each game state that we will have many chances to find the solutions to each puzzle. However, each new attempt finds us back at the starting block, still trying to figure out the true method in our madness!
Today, the world as we know it is starting to face its demons head on. This confrontation has been steadily brewing for some time and now the melting pot is beginning to boil over. Increased tension between the world’s citizens has caused the trapped memories of previous existences to start scrambling forward to the pulpit of every consciousness, hoping to find an excuse to validate their existence. And now for many of us, the game is suddenly starting to take on a much more sinister stance.
The truth is that we cannot ignore the rightful place of these troublesome memories from within our own personal never-ending stories. Every ounce of fear, aggression, hate, anger and prejudice deserves its place in the game – simply because we cannot learn from these degenerate emotions unless we face them head on in any lifetime and realise that every painful moment is only ever a learning experience.
The never-ending story never ends; it just keeps rolling along like Ol’ Man River. Eventually though, we realise that negative emotions are only bit part players in our adventure and once the stimulus of social power is removed from their arsenal then all that’s left is pity.
Meanwhile, the spirit world watches us with continued interest and is always there to advise us on our own personal journey. We must always remember that when the time comes to reflect on each and every adventure that we have lived a life of value.
There are always reasons as to why humans fail to live side by side in harmony – in truth, we couldn’t learn about all facets of physicality if everything was always as sweet and rosy as Limahl’s song. Yet, let’s not forget that for every soul that fails to control the immoral emotions of their past, there are many more souls who are willing to help them get back with the game – to restart their adventure – to search for love in everything that exists. Only then will we be able to appreciate the beauty of our never-ending story.
