On the Eve of Exorcism Live taking place October 30th and my affiliation with Bishop James Long and as one of the Directors of Operation for the Paranormal Clergy Institute and recognized by the United States Old Catholic Church as one of their Demonologist, I have had many friends and colleagues tell me how unethical it is to televise an Exorcism on TV.

Well, I agree in fact the Solemn Rite of Exorcism should never be televised and thank God it’s not being televised. Wait, you must be wondering “Did he just contradict himself?” actually No I didn’t, this is not a trick question, I’m actually being specific!

What will be televised tomorrow night on the 30th of October is Not the Solemn Rite of Exorcism because that is a Rite that can only be performed over a person believed to be possessed and quite frankly, to televise that would be disrespectful and unethical. Some have said, “Well this is nothing more than a House blessing”. Wrong again! A house blessing can be performed by a priest over a house before moving in, in hopes of ringing in a peaceful move into a new home.

Here is what will be taking place October 30th; The Minor Rite of Exorcism is the ritual that will be performed in the house that inspired the most famous horror movie of all time, The Exorcist, based on true accounts of a boy having been possessed by Demonic forces and yes the Solemn Rites were performed there and in the Hospital where he was finally freed from the grasp of possession. But the Minor Rite of Exorcism was never performed in the home, ground zero for what would inevitably be the beginning of a fight between good and evil.

The Minor Rite of Exorcism is what is commonly used by Exorcists or Bishops to battle Demonic spirits that may have infested a home or location, the individual reciting the Rite is purposely provoking the demonic entity to manifest itself so that the Exorcist evoking the power of God through faith can cast it out.

So just so we’re clear; there is no person being Exorcised on this live telecast. This is not considered a paranormal event even though there will be a Paranormal Investigative team there attempting to gather evidence of spiritual activity. Make no mistake that this is Not A Paranormal Event.

This will be for the very first time “LIVE” a fight versus Good and Evil on TV. Will we see beds and chairs levitate, will pieces of furniture block the door as one of the participants try to walk through it?

The truth of the matter is that no one really knows what may happen But I can guarantee you all that this show would not be happening without the permission of the family that lives there and the individuals involved are fully aware of the dangers that come with being tied to this project.

I will be praying for all involved tomorrow and expecting Good to triumph over Evil.
