Who and what are these beings? Breaking down & categorizing Shadow People.

A good part of the time when we’re dealing with the paranormal, we’re dealing with some type of entity or being. Whether it’s from this planet or another one, or if it’s in this dimension or from a different one, there is quite a list of different kinds of species or beings, most being bizarre & fantastic. But when it comes to the creep factor, shadow people are at the top of the list.

If you’re the kind of person who is into the supernatural, or if you’ve seen one for yourself, then you know basically what we’re talking about… A black figure usually shaped like a person, with little to no features, & who comes off as menacing or dangerous. They are more often than not seen & associated with dark places, & usually have a foreboding presence where as one feels like they are in harm’s way. These traits are what basically define a shadow person. But there have been other characteristics described in reports about shadow people that researchers & paralogians feel suggests that not all shadow people are in fact true shadow people, but are mistaken for other entities such as ghosts, spirits, djinn, or demons.

When a paranormal society gets a call for help about a location which seems to have apparition sightings, they need to be able to define what exactly they’re dealing with, which is why it’s important to establish what characteristics define a true shadow person & what characteristics are indicative of other types of entities/beings. So let’s define what paranormal professionals, paralogians, & parapsychologists agree defines a true shadow person. Let’s call this description a type a shadow person. The characteristics are as follows;

• Blacker than Black. They are even darker than the night or darker than the darkest surroundings.

• No distinguishable features. What one sees is a black outline of a person all filled in with black.

• The ability to morph or change shapes & blends in & become a shadow.

• They prefer dark places… Crypts, closets, catacombs, caves, mausoleums, ext…Who & what are these beings? Breaking down & categorizing Shadow People.

These characteristics are always present with a true shadow person experience or encounter.

However, people claim to have experiences with shadow people that, although are similar to what we call a type A shadow person, have other additional qualities or characteristics that are inductive of the other types of entities mentioned previously. These subtle qualities or differences are what can alert a paranormal investigator to the fact that they may be dealing with something that, although looks like a shadow person, may in fact be something entirely different.

Here are some of the other traits people report which can give a would be shadow person away. These things are reported by many people over countless centuries throughout time. Well name the most popular traits & who or what they can be associated with.

• Red glowing eyes. Yes, people see shadow people with red eyes. Traditionally, shadow people don’t have any facial features, as they are featureless. When one sees such an entity, one must consider the fact that that may be demonic in nature because demons have been described with red eyes in the past.

• Transparency. If one sees a traditional shadow person but one notices that part of the figure in question has transparency or has missing legs or body parts, then one should consider the possibility that the entity in question may be a ghost or spirit, & not the classic type A shadow person, whereas the entity has never been a human of flesh & blood.

• Wisps of Smokey trails or tentacles. In ancient times the djinn were described as having a Smokey quality about them. Some people have seen black shadowy forms with what appears to be tentacles or trails of smoke rising off of them. This is how the djinn were often described in books like the Qur’an or the Mahabharata, which are legendary sand scripts from India. Djinn come in various colours. The black ones are said to be of evil.

Shadow people are also reported to be very quick when they choose to be. They are also reported to be seen moving around or going by in one’s peripheral vision. These types of shadowy forms are also associated with shadow people because they’re usually black & sometimes seen in various case studies. But nobody knows what exactly what these beings are, primarily because no one can get a good visual on them, although sensitive types claim to feel their presence. We know they’re real & not a product of an over active imagination because they have been caught on video. They are so fast that we have to slow the tape down to make them out as an actual form. Since we are categorizing them, let’s call the quick shadow beings a type B shadow person. These don’t seem to cause the same level of distress because they are rarely seen.

And no shadow person article would be complete without mention of the Hat-man. Many people associate the Hat-man with shadow people because they’re both completely black with no features. However, the Hat-man seems to be wearing a rimmed hat & a duster or trench coat. Hundreds, if not thousands of people have reported him over the years.

There are two reasons we feel the Hat-man is not a true type A or B shadow person. The first is that many people feel no fear from the Hat-man… & not because people can’t seem him so well. The second & more important reason is that many folks claim to see the wisps of smoke emanating off of him. That trait is usually associated with the djinn. We’re not saying the Hat-man is definitely a djinn, we’re just saying he doesn’t seem to be a true shadow person by our definition.

We feel a true shadow person, either type A or B, is more likely an inter dimensional being of some sort opposed to a traditional demon or djinn, or once human ghost or spirit. But at this point, it’s just speculative theories based on years of documentation of haunted reports & encounters.

We should point out that many researchers & professionals claim that there’s no way to banish or remove a shadow person. However, just as many believe shadow people can be dealt with by invoking the power of God into the environment by a holy man or woman, which is considered house deliverance. Our society’s resident Psychotherapist witnessed a shadowy figure leave the residence through the front door while house deliverance was being performed by our society’s resident theologist, who is an ordained Methodist Reverend. Because of our personal experiences & our belief in God, we personally believe in the latter. Any malevolent entity of supernatural origin of any kind can be dealt with deliverance or an exorcism. However, finding & getting someone who is qualified to perform one may not be so easy. We recommend using caution when dealing with any negative entity, including shadow people.

We hope this information is helpful to those who may not know the variations of traits that can be found when investigating shadow people… Just remember that if someone tells you they’ve seen a shadow person, depending on the variables, it may in fact be something else. So try to get as many details about what has been witnessed so you can come to an opinion that may be more accurate.
